Summer brings changes

Summer is coming and most students will return home. While the campus is empty there will be quite a few changes made.
Sarah Hallinan, director of residence life, had quite a few things to tell about the new changes and renovations over the summer.
"Shriwise and Honors are getting new furniture. They are going to get new mattresses, beds that are bunk-able, and new dressers that are stackable," said Hallinan. The furniture will be delivered in August.
"The furniture that is still usable will be moved to other halls and apartments on campus," said Hallinan. "Every summer before the students come back we have to move furniture around.
"Wallingford will be closed this summer, they will be getting new window, heating, and air condition units," said Hallinan.
Blake Carter, communication sophomore, lived in Wallingford his freshman year. "Living in Wallingford was kind of a disappointment when you compared it to all the other dorms," said Carter. "I can remember how the air conditioning worked. It was horrible because it takes three days to get it to turn on either heating or air conditioning."
Hallinan said, "Honors have one built in desk, and they will get another one that they can use either as a dining table or a desk. The apartments will get new chairs also."
Tabbetha Black, accounting freshman, thinks it is good that the older dorms are getting new furniture. "Take care of the new furniture like they were your own that way the furniture can last longer for people living there in later years, said Black.
