May 4 is set for commencement

Southwestern College Commencement ceremonies will be May 4.
During the ceremony, winners of the Fran Jabara Leadership Award, and the Charles H. and Verda R. Kopke Award for Distinguished Teaching will be announced.
The graduation ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. at Sonner Stadium.
In case of rain, Stewart Field House will host the event and the ceremony will be televised through closed circuit to three locations on campus.
About 640 students are eligible to participate in the ceremony, including students receiving degrees from professional studies programs.
Baccalaureate services will be in Richardson Auditorium of the Christy Administration Building. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The Honors Convocation will be at 4 p.m. May 3 in Richardson Auditorium. Although this is a traditional main campus program, professional studies learners who qualified for the Dean's Honor Roll for fall 2007 will be recognized on the printed program. Inductees to the Order of the Mound will be announced during the ceremony. The Order of the Mound recognizes students graduating in the top 10 percent of the class.
Commencement activities will be broadcast live on channel 21 in Winfield as well as through closed circuit television on campus.
Viewing locations include the dining hall in the Roy L. Smith Student Center, the campus life lounge in the lower level of the Roy L. Smith student center, and Richardson Auditorium.
Location of the ceremony (in case of inclement weather) will be announced at baccalaureate and on the college's automated voice service which can be accessed by dialing (620) 229-6000.
