The semester is getting close to the end, and there are a lot of things that need to be done before that time comes. Maintenance is offering a fun break from the stress.
One of those things is cleaning, which is not really something a lot of people enjoy. Well fear not, this time cleaning might get you a pizza party for you and some of your closest your friends.
"Maintenance came up with the idea of cleaning for a pizza party," said Sarah Hallinan, director of resident life.
"It is pretty simple," said Hallinan, "Clean your room and get pizza. I only have one signed up right now. So keep on entering the competition."
Some people are very positive about cleaning for the pizza party competition, while others can't find the time with finals in the not-so-distant future.
Sonja Durrin, marine biology freshman, will not clean her room to win a pizza party. "I don't have enough time," said Durrin. "I have to think about finals at the end of the school year."
Jeremiah Roberts, music education freshman, thinks cleaning for a pizza party is a good idea toward the end of the school year. "I am a neat freak, I would clean anyways," said Roberts. "I might as well clean for something."
Students can enter the contest before April 18 by e-mailing Hallinan. The judging will be held April 22. Hallinan and Jeff Gile, manager of plant operations, will be the judges of who has the cleanest and most organized room. The winning room will get pizza for them and their friends.
