It means 'Builder Jam' in German, but you don't need to learn any new languages on Assessment Day.
StuFu will be hosting the third annual Stau Bau competition April 7-9.
The most popular event, the inflatables, will be on the Wallingford lawn April 8.
There are no classes that Wednesday, so students can enjoy a mechanical bull, tug of war, an eating competition, an obstacle course, and more. In case of weather problems, the inflatables will be moved into Stewart Field House.
But Stau Bau doesn't begin there.
Stau Bau is a class competition that begins on Monday.
"It's brining alumni back on campus to come and participate," said Sheleah Taylor, director of campus life. "It's brining the staff of the college and the community as one."
Monday night is Skate Night from 8 to 10 p.m. at Interskate 77. Last year, StuFu tried to organize a kickball competition but it was rained out. This year, they tried to think of an indoor activity.
"We want to keep it a secret, just because it's something new and fun," said Sarah Morton, digital arts senior. Morton is president of StuFu. The new activity is a swim challenge in White PE Tuesday night.
Tuesday at noon there will be a Knowledge Bowl in the cafeteria.
On Wednesday there will be lunch on the Wallingford lawn, followed by inflatables from noon to 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday night, StuFu is bringing in two salsa instructors from Wichita. Taylor said, "They're going to teach us for the first 45 minutes different salsa techniques."
There will also be a live DJ. The salsa dancing is going to be in the cafeteria from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
"I'm excited. Each year we incorporate something new," Taylor said.
Brandon Hessing, sports management senior, is a member of StuFu. He said he's looking forward to friendly class competition.
"I like seeing the bull riding. I think that's one of my favorite things. Everyone likes to try it out. And some people are better than others," Hessing said. "It gets everyone involved."
Morton said she's looking forward to hopefully having it outside this year.
"We're looking forward to everyone coming out and participating and enjoying Stau Bau again," Morton said
