Last week StuFu surveyed interest for a proposed trip to travel in a charter bus from campus to Souix City, IA., for the women's national basketball tournament.
The trip was set to leave at 11 p.m. from campus March 11 and arrive at the Tyson Events Center/
Gateway Arena this morning in time for the tip off.
The trip was canceled due to the low number of students who actually signed up for the bus later in the week.
"Over 60 people originally said they were interested," said Sarah Morton, digital arts senior.
Morton is president of StuFu. "When the actual sign up happened last Thursday morning,
those numbers didn't show up."
StuFu had to make an executive
decision to cancel the trip due to financial reasons.
Sheleah Taylor, director of campus life, said, "The only reason we didn't go was that we didn't have enough students sign up for the bus. Twenty-three students signed up for a 55 passenger bus."
"Everything was organized and ready to go. We just didn't have enough actually sign up to make the trip an economic choice," said Taylor.
