A new batch of students will join Student Foundation in weeks to come. Elections and interviews are currently being held for spots on next year's StuFu staff. Darius Hopkins, Vice President of Traditions, said "We will know who the new members and executives are during Stau Bau." The group encourages any student to apply for membership, but executive offices are only available for current members. Giovanni Garcia, Public Relations executive, said, "If you have already been in StuFu for one year you can apply to be an exec. You can pick up an application, and turn it in with a resume." New members are expected to participate in various activities. Hopkins said, "We are looking for members with creative minds. Students who are not scared to give ideas and take charge, we want a group of positive students to carry on the tradition of StuFu." Being apart of the organization has some benefits. Nicole Shidler, business senior, said "It has helped me voice my opinion more, I have met a lot of people, and I've learned how to work with people to put on events. The only drawback is it takes a lot of time but that has taught me how important time management is." Garcia said, "I have gained experience in publicity since I am in charge of creating posters and flyers for student foundations events." Members of StuFu are expected to set up and tear down all hosted events as well as serve as role models to the student body. Hopkins said, "Members of StuFu get to see what goes on behind the scenes. We want people who encourage the student body to become more active on campus, especially the students who stay in their rooms or go home every weekend." Applications for StuFu membership are currently available in the Campus Life office. For more information contact Darius Hopkins at darius.hopkins@sckans.edu.
