Pi Gamma Mu awarded Roll of Merit

Pi Gamma Mu has been awarded the Roll of Merit by the awards committee of the Pi Gamma Mu board of trustees. Pi Gamma Mu is the international honor society of the social sciences.   It was founded in 1924 by Southwestern College Dean Leroy Allen and Dean William A. Hamilton of the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Southwestern College maintains the alpha chapter of the society and 17 chapters were organized simultaneously. Cheryl Rude is the division chair and Claudia Geer is the co-sponsor. College juniors, seniors, and graduate students become eligible to join when they meet the criteria for membership.
