In the fourth week of the intramural
basketball season, many of the teams brought their talents together quite well. The end-of-season tournament is certain to be an excellent display
of campus basketball skill.
On Feb. 6 Leadership 1 beat Sphyganometer 38-28 in the Winfield Junior High Gym at 8 p.m. In the 9 p.m. game, the Quitters won by forfeit over the Masters.
Feb. 10 featured seven league games. The Intense Tacos tipped off against the Quitters at 2 p.m. in Stewart Field House. The Quitters defeated the Tacos 65-57.
Team Blue beat Sphyganometer
34-28 at 3 p.m. The Shockers
barely defeated the Masters at 4 p.m. winning 39-35.
Sunday at 5 p.m. the games moved into the Winfield High School Auxiliary Gym, where the Norfolk let the air out of the Windbags, 49-45.
At 6 p.m. the Bryant Andrews took Leadership 1 by 12 points, 57-45. Quickfire won against Discipleship 54-28 in the 8 p.m. game.
The final game of the evening ended in triple overtime. When the third extra three minute quarter was over, it was Leadership
2, 56 over Phi Delts, 54.
"I am not sure if the triple overtime was a record or not, but I know it was a great game," said Dan Faulk, associate dean of students.
Remaining regular season's games happen Feb. 17. Pool positions
and game times will be announced the following week.
