Christmas is right around the corner, and it is not finals that help people to get in the Christmas mood.

Sheleah Taylor, director of campus life, is one of those people who likes to spread Christmas joy around to everyone. "I love giving," said Taylor. "I mean it is fun receiving, but I love giving even more, and I love to see other people happy."

This is the third year for SC Christmas. New people are working on different activities. The outreach teams are participating this year as well as the band.

"Campus life oversees things and makes sure everything is put together as it is supposed to," said Taylor.

"Students are the ones working. I am more the behind-the-scenes person." Student Foundation and Student Government Association are in charge.

All together there will be 17 6' trees, which different organizations will decorate. The trees will be judged and prizes will be given to whoever wins. Then the trees will be donated to someone who needs them more so they can get into Christmas spirit.

Kayla Gollhofer, elementary education freshman, is excited about the Christmas season. "I really enjoyed Eagerheart. It set the mood for Christmas time," said Gollhofer. "I am excited to see what the rest of the week will bring."

Eagerheart and the Christmas concert were first on the program. Breakfast and bingo and Freshman Class Council's annual skate night fill this week's schedule.

Amos Dailey, video game design senior, is excited about Christmas. "I love how Christmas brings families together," said Dailey.

"So with all the lights on campus I feel that I am so much closer to seeing all of my family," said Dailey.

The Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the bottom of the 77 starts at 5.30 p.m. Friday.
