Competition for the fall season is over now for both the men's and women's golf teams. The men finished off their season in the Sleep Inn Suites Classic at the Coffee Creek Golf Club in Edmond, Okla., on Oct. 29 and 30.
Leading the Builders was Andrew Manley, accounting junior. He placed 29th out of 100 golfers with 77-74-151. Tyler Lytton, business senior, finished 41st with 77-77-154. Kenneth Wright, business sophomore, placed 69th with 76-82-158. Levi Moreland, business senior, completed the tournament at 86th with 79-84-163. Pat Fulton, business senior, finished 88th with 84-80-164. The team finished 12th out of 16.
All of the scores from the entire fall season will carry over to the spring season.
The men completed their season with a 304.12 average. The women finished with a 361.87 average.
Now the golfers have some down time during the winter season.
Just because it is going to get cold outside and the teams have some off time doesn't mean that the golfers will be resting all winter long. They will be working out during the off-season.
Wright said, "We have to do conditioning five times a week and strength training three times a week."
Brad Sexson, head golf coach, wants the teams to improve on one thing before next semester.
"Both teams just need to work on playing through adversity a little bit better," said Sexson.
One thing is for sure though. The only way they can go is up.
Blair Koehn, business junior, said, "Hopefully we can all come together a bit better and play well at the same time next season."
Jared Paul, business sophomore, said, "Maybe next season will go a little bit better for us. Hopefully, we can improve as a team and get back to the top of the KCAC once again."
