Tonight some students are planning on using the October holiday to grasp what is left of their youth, hitting the streets to get the candy that some feel rightfully belongs to them, even if they're only allowed this chance one night a year.

Katie Gomez, communication freshman, said she's headed out for the evening. "I'm going trick or treating for canned goods and then I'm going to a party at Sara Tolle's. My roommate and I also decorated our room and got some pumpkins and we went to a few parties last weekend," said Gomez.

Zach Stewart, history freshman, said, "I'm just going to hang out with friends, get dressed up and see what kind of candy I can come across."

Several students from campus are going out in groups in search of an eventful evening. Alyssa Carter, psychology sophomore, said, "The cross country girls are going to the Forrest of Fear, somewhere near Udall."

Hermano Ribeiro, business administration sophomore, and Guilherme Lins, business administration sophomore, said, "We're going to the Lifehouse concert in Wichita."

Aside from the well-known Discipleship and Leadership Halloween celebrations, dormitories have their own campus celebrations as well. Ashli Reynolds, psychology sophomore, is the RA in Cole Hall. She said, "I'm not doing anything on Halloween night, but Tuesday night is the all-Cole Hall party."

Some groups on campus have also planned to do something for the community this Halloween night. Sarah Morton, computer science senior, said, "I am going with FCC to go trick or treating for canned goods."

Many are active, but a majority of students are planning on escaping the rush of children on the streets by staying in.

Carmon Bliss, elementary education junior, said, "I am going on a candy diet. Other than that, I'm not really doing much."

Tommy Castor, communication senior, said, "I'll be sitting in my room, watching T.V."

Michael Daniels, history senior, said, "I'm going to be hanging out at my dad's house handing out candy."

Still others are planning horror movie nights. Nate Jones, communication junior, said, "I actually have a horror movie marathon planned. We've got both Evil Dead's and the two Dawn of the Dead movies. I'm really looking forward to it."
