Soccer to host Saint Mary Saturday, team trying to find some consistency

The men's soccer team played at Tabor last night. Scores were not available at press time.
The Blue Jays were 0-3 in the conference and 2-7 overall last nights game. The Builders will host the University of Saint Mary Oct 6. The Spires were 1-1 in the Kansas Collegiate Atheletic Conference and 3-7 overall before their game last night against Bethany.
Roberto dos Santos, head men's soccer coach, said, "To analyze these teams by their records would be a mistake. We don't know what goes on within their teams. I am happy with the strength of our team and we just need to focus and get these wins."
The Builder men played Bethany College Sept. 29, winning 7-0. Kyle Smith, fresman defender/mid-fielder, said, "We did very well. We connected and everything clicked. We were very comfortable and it showed by how we won."
The men lost to Sterling College 3-4 in a double overtime hard fought game by both teams Sept. 26.
Smith said, "We played really well with a little inconsistency. We had a lack of focus at times in the game and that is why we ended up losing. It was unfortunate how it turned out after playing so well."
Before last night's game, the Builder men were 4-7 overall and 1-2 in the KCAC.
Smith said, "We are getting a lot better. We still need to work on communication on and off the field and just work on our awareness."
