From the pre-season poll up to now, the Bethel Threshers have led the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference Standings.

In the Threshers' first game of the 2007 season against Kansas Wesleyan, Bethel won the game 13-8. They are undefeated so far. The Moundbuilders look to stop them in their tracks Oct. 6 in North Newton.

In week three, Michael Coppock, sophomore running back, was the offensive player of the week. He carried the ball for 203 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in the 34-21 win over McPherson College Sept. 22.

Dave Dallas, head coach at Kansas Wesleyan University, coached his 100th win Sept. 22nd. The 29th contest was homecoming for Kansas Wesleyan.

In the pre-season poll, Kansas Wesleyan was picked to finish second overall, behind Bethel.

During pre-game warm-ups, the Moundbuilders had high hopes for the game. Little did they know, they would just end up getting denied.

Ken Crandall, head football coach, said, "I wish that we could have just played better. If I could have gone back to change something from the game, it would have been the whole 'win factor.' But all in all, I wish we could have just played better."

When halftime rolled around, the Coyotes led 24-7. The lone touchdown came from Michael Coppock, running back, on a 1-yard touchdown run.

Roberto Aguillar, fullback, said, "Right from the get go, you could tell that we didn't prepare as well as we should have. It will be tough to come back from. We should have won this game. I just wish that the sideline could have been a little bit more supportive. Maybe some spirit? At least we are still 2-1 in the conference. We will use this as a pick me up to come back to be one of the top teams in the conference."

When the final buzzer rang throughout the stadium, the win belonged to Kansas Wesleyan with a score of 44-14.

The last touchdown scored by the Moundbuilders was scored by Nick Mondero, running back, on a one yard rush.

Coppock led the team with 61 rushing yards in the game.

Jesse Lyons, quarterback, threw the ball for 80 yards with one an interception.

Ryan Molz, wide receiver, caught the ball six times for a total of 54 yards.

Colby Seagraves, kicker, averaged 23.3 yards for seven punts.

Corey Holbert, running back, returned two kickoffs for 37 yards.

Crandall said, "We just need to work on being consistent. Throughout the game, there were people missing assignments, missing blocks and such. Now we are just looking at the loss as if it were just another game.

"We aren't going to worry about who we're playing next. We are going to worry about ourselves. We need to come in with our best effort, our 'A' game. With this will be a good week of practice."
