This should not be a difficult concept to understand; facts aren't important in an opinion piece. Additionally, whether your opinion is the same or different from the opinion expressed in this piece, that does not negate the reporter's right to have their opinion published. What you are proposing, Mr. VenJohn, is censorship. By denying the reporter's right to publish this article, you are proposing that the editor violate the reporter's first amendment rights. Something to think about... On a final note, I am delighted that someone decided to "disturb the peace." Too often the status quo goes unchallenged, because that's the way it has always been, or because no one has the courage to stand up and challenge the system. The behavior of SOME student athletes on this campus, and others, is seriously disturbing. Being a student athlete is a position that should be held with pride, and dignity.
